Your Last WorkshopWedding Photography Workshop with Lena Sabala
Tuesday 2 February 2027 · Coats, Paisley · £450 ·
Sound familiar?
You’ve done the workshops. You’ve collected the poses, the presets and the reference boards. And some days you still look at your work and wonder whether it’s really yours, or whether you’re quite good enough to charge for it.
That isn’t a skills problem. It’s a sameness problem.
Look at what’s being shot right now: the same poses, the same flash, the same gallery, couple after couple. Nobody is doing it badly. It’s just that everyone is doing it the same way, and couples end up looking like everyone else’s couples.
This day is about doing the opposite.
-
Different isn’t wrong. There’s far less “bad” in this work than you’ve been told. There’s mostly just different, and different is the thing a couple remembers you for.
Making friends with imposter syndrome. I can’t get rid of it for you, and I won’t pretend I’ve got rid of it myself. But you can learn to work with it instead of being run by it.
Independence. You’ll leave knowing how to plan a shoot from the first idea to the last frame, without needing anyone’s reference to tell you what’s allowed.
Getting the couple to show up in the photos. I’ll show you how I talk to couples before a wedding or a project, so their personality ends up in the pictures and not just their outfits.
What editorial actually means. It’s more than a look or a colour palette. We’ll dig into it properly.
-
We’ll go through the stages of planning a shoot together, then put it into practice with an actual couple, not models. Everyone gets their own time with them to shoot their own idea, while I move around the group. We finish by looking at the images together and talking honestly about it.
-
Photographers who shoot weddings, or are about to, and who suspect they’re borrowing someone else’s style. You don’t need to know what your style is. Finding out is the point.
I’m not promising you’ll never attend another workshop. I’m promising you’ll stop needing one to tell you what to do.

I’m a Glasgow-based wedding photographer, and my work has been featured in Rock My Wedding and Boho Weddings. I do my job for 18 years. I’m not here to perform. I’ll tell you what works, what doesn’t and where I’ve got it wrong, and I’d like you to leave shooting more like yourself.
